My name is Jamie Hofmann and I am the owner of Run Wild Play Kits. Thank you for stopping by!
A little bit about me:
I am a Registered Child Psychologist and currently work with Pine Integrated Health Centre in Edmonton and also have my own private practice, Imagine Psychology Consulting Services (www.imaginepsychology.com). I am also a mom to a sweet little boy named Harrison James, who has a smile that instantly melts you.
A little more about the creation of Run Wild Play Kits:
I started planning Run Wild Play Kits in January 2020 and finally launched on March 8, 2020, a week before COVID-19 really hit and everything shut down. Apparently my timing was impeccable! My son was born in July 2019 and I unfortunately experienced postpartum depression and anxiety and was struggling with a loss of identity and purpose - not that having a baby doesn't give you a purpose, but it's a different kind of purpose. I needed to do something that allowed me to be creative and to feel a little bit more like "me."
Why Play Kits?
I have had the absolute pleasure of working with so many incredible teachers and support staff who utilize loose parts, open-ended sensory play into their classroom so beautifully and I wanted to a make it easy for parents to incorporate this type of play into their homes. It provides an alternative to screen time, encourages serve and return between child and caregiver, and supports the all around development of the child.
Thank you so much for your continued love and support of my small business. It means the absolute world.
